Misfortune keeps following me

My computer is yet again non-functional. This time my second hdd crashed.

Ever since I bought my new computer, things have caused problems. The first few months however was completely fine (if you ignore the fact that the delivery of my graphic card was delayed for two months). I've had two Seagate HDDs (the functional ones, mind you) which both have broken down up to this date. Now, a few days ago the second one crashed and I suspect the reason behind this actually is the motherboard.

Actually, it makes a little sense, because; a few weeks ago, my CPU also stopped working. After a few hours of trial and error without any kind of success, including switching to a identical CPU and even testing mine in my brothers computer (working, by the way), it suddenly started to work again upon switching back. This would probably also have something to do with the motherboard.

As it looks now, the data is probably gone - the second hdd isn't even readable by the system. Although I can see the C: drive with I boot it up through USB to my laptop so everything may not be completely lost. The good side of this is that I don't have to buy new things, I still have warranty on this piece of ...

Intuos4, art and theft

I bought myself a Wacom Intuos4 M. So far I have nothing to complain about; I think it is a huge improvement over my last one which was a Graphire4. I have (or should I say had?) a few projects going. But due to the situation described above, and my current hours of work I have very limited time to work on anything. I sleep, eat and work, mainly. I'm a zombie, as =ChrisCold pointed out.

Concerning art theft. *GDSWorld noted me about someone using Astralis in his own work. I asked him kindly to delete the image in question, but apparently it was okay to keep the other two he used Astralis on (yes, he used the same picture on three of his deviations). They have all been removed by now and as he said he was sorry I also removed his name.

In most cases I wouldn't really care. It isn't fun to know other artist are using your art without your permission, but when it happens multiple times by the same artist it feels like a whole different thing.

Astralis recieved a DD by the way, thank you ~Broken-Lithium and `gucken. :)

In any case, I want to say thank you all for your support. It means a lot!

#SpaceArt?

Still yes, #SpaceArt

The two seagate HDD's I had both crashed. They shipped with those OEM computers. But I know that I will never buy anything from seagate. There are programs that enabled me to save a lot of data from these disks, though.

Two different "versions" were released, they called them 7200.11 and 7200.12. 7200.11 was corrupt already in the factory, 7200.12 was supposedly fixed from this issue. Both my HDD's were 7200.12, which makes this a bit sad.

Any idea what software you used? I am really interested in trying to get back as much as possible as I have barely any backup.

And yeah, I kind of lost faith in Seagate now as well.

I've used many kinds of softwares. Seagate have their own data recovery software, which I wouldn't recommend. I think runtime software's "GetDataBack" is the program I've had most success with (you could always download it using bittorrent). Remember, don't expect to get everything back. Before the HDD completely breaks down it usually gets bad sectors and files become corrupted (for me at least). You can always check the master file table (MFT) and see if there are bad sectors. Then that's the first sign you should change HDD.

When you said it got a DD, I thought you meant the stolen one got a DD...I was about to rage :rage: Sadly I've been forced to watermark mine - space art is such a common theft target both on and off dA
